Pete SchuhWoodturning Bowls
Date/Time: Saturday, October 16, 2021 @ 10:00 – 11:45am
I retired in 2010 as a maintenance supervisor with Appleton Coated, Combined Locks.
After retirement I purchased a 14 – 42 Delta wood lathe. I didn’t have much success in my turning endeavors. I bought a few DVD’s but needed more help.
In 2011 I enrolled in the wood turning Certificate program offered by NWTC, Artisan Center. I received my certificate in December of 2012. I was offered a part time teaching position at the Artisan Center in December of 2014. The first two years I taught basic wood turning. I am now teaching the intermediate turning class.
I enjoy doing many different aspects of turning. I’ve done some segment bowls, 3D tumbling block and lately basket weave platters.
At the spring show, I will cover the basic turning steps, ABC (anchor bevel cut) and demonstrate turning a small bowl. We will also discuss the basic tool set, sharpening and cutting/storing green wood.
